China Grill – Vimannagar : Review

Be it Chinese or North Indian food, you are sorted when at China Grill! When your wife loves Chinese and you are like why I can’t eat kukkad and naan today? Then head to China Grill to satisfy both of yours food cravings. As this is probably the only place in Pune which serves authentic Chinese and Indian under one roof.

About Service : Staff is very courteous and friendly. They do have thorough knowledge about the whole menu. 5/5 for service factor!

Food:

Prawns Chilli Sesame : This tempura battered prawns deep fried and tossed with garlic julians and sesame. The sweet and tangy sauce went really well with this one.

Tandoori Pomfret : Something from the Indian menu. When I went there this dish was their special dish of the day so – Ye order karna toh banata hai! I must say, this was one of the best tandoor pomfret I ever had. The big pomfret was overnight marinated and the flavors were oozing out. The fish was grilled to perfection (Presentation could have been better though).

Corn Curd Mangolian : I was told that this is their one of signature dish. They make mashed corn cubes in house and toss them with light soy sauce along with pok choy and shallots. This was quite good but could have been better if the cubes were smaller in size and they were pretty big ones due to which the center part of the cube was bland only the outer coating was flavorful.

Basil Chicken Dry : Oh wow! This was again an awesome dish. Chicken cubes tossed with fresh basil, lots of garlic, authentic Chinese sauces and bell peppers. This had very intriguing flavor and I loved it.

Roasted Duck in Oyster Sauce along with Chicken Fried Rice : Now is was time for a main course. I tried two main courses out of which this one was oriental and quite good. The oyster sauce was mild and flavorful and the duck pieces were cooked perfectly, they weren’t chewy at all in fact were soft and juicy which is a big thing when it comes to cooking a duck.

Murg Mussallam with Special Naan : Naan something of this sort is a best dish in itself. It was kind of Indian pizza 😉 Naan topped with grated cheese, paneer, garlic, coriander. I opted for smaller portion of Murg mussallam so in the picture its actually 1/3rd portion of it’s actual size. Murg mussallam was creamy and buttery. It was so perfect that I kept licking my fingers. Great stuff!

In Pune China Grill has three outlets. This one which I tried is from Vimannagar. You must visit them for their great food offerings. I am sure, you won’t get disappointed.

Final Verdict :

Food – 4.5/5
