Burger Fest @Cafe Toons, MG Road Pune – Reviewed!!

Cafe Toons is famous for its rock music, chilled beers, cozy ambiance, LCDs beaming live sports coverage. I remember my first visit to this place around 6 years ago and still it has same vibes as of the old times.
Currently Cafe Toons is running a Burger festival starting from 14th October to 23rd October 2016. Where they are offering 7 non vegetarian burgers and 5 veg burgers.
The #FoodProwl team was invited for food tasting yesterday and we tasted all those non-veg burgers 🙂

Well in their regular menu they have Beers, shots, cocktails, wines, meals, pastas, pizzas, burgers, side orders, coffees and beverages. For Burger Fest they have  a special menu which has Beer+ Burger combos and Burgers, whole lotta Burgers!!

All burgers served are named after a rock track since this place is known for playing all popular classic rock numbers. The veg burgers include The Billie Jean Burger loaded with mozzarella, cheddar and cottage cheese, Portobello pesto Burger, Sweet Child’O mine Burger etc. The non vegetarian burgers include Pulled lamb burger, The Sandman Burger,  Miso glazed fish burger, Hotel California burger, JD’s Burger Ace of Spades Burger.

My personal picks would be The Californication Burger- which was a crumbled deep fried fish burger. Mustered and double crumbled river sole fish patty served with salsa, bell peppers and Jalapeno relish and french fries. Then there was Ace Of Spades – A drunken chicken with cheddar and served along with shot of JD BBQ sauce and buttered sauteed veggies including broccoli, carrots, green beans. Cee Tee (an Abbreviation of Cafe Toons) which had house special chicken steak topped with fried egg, onion rings and served along with chipotle dip, fries and slaw. The Thriller – it was a three pepper chicken burger. A grilled chicken patty with fiery hot green, black and red pepper served with chive sauce and caramelized sweetish onions and french fries.

Hotel California Burger was having huge blob of Wasabi in it which hit me like anything. Miso infused, grilled river sole with wasabi mayo in it also a wasabi dip served along with this. Oh man!!  That wasabi effect lasted for couple of minutes, made my eyes watery and nose runny :(. But if you have just enough, the initial pungency turns into pleasantly sweet and mellow aftertaste.

So if you are big fan of burgers then go ahead have some burgers @ Toons with couple of chilled beers. Enjoy some rocking music.
